WELCOME to our website: Hiruak - Bat, Rural Houses Association.

The association comprises some 100 rural houses located in the Valleys of Baztán, Urdazubi-Urdax, Zugarramurdi, Bertizarana, Malerreka and Bortziriak,... The whole region has many things to offer to the visitor, among which traditional farmhouses and the hospitality and gentleness of its people are noteworthy.

Standing close to the border this land has witnessed the passage of many travelers throughout history. Maybe this continuous flow of different people has marked and shaped  the welcoming character of the local people.

The Pyrenees: Hendaia-Port Bou; This is where the landscape opens up and the mountains (the pre-Pyrenees) turn green and bow down to the ocean. The visitor will find not so steep mountains, wide meadows, traditional farmhouses, medieval buildings, oak and beech groves, acacia trees, corn fields, Pyrenean and frisona cows, latxa sheep,... witchcraft and love legends, ... a millenary language and culture.

The rural houses comprised in the Association stand in an exceptionally well-preserved setting. Besides a wide range of offers, the visitor will enjoy ancestral traditions, a rich gastronomy, home-made farm products, pleasant manners and the comfort of our accommodations. The Hiruak-Bat Association is committed to quality and comfort.

We offer two basic types of accommodation: full accommodation (the whole house is for rent) and shared accommodation (part of the house is for rent).
